It’s now known that Samsung will be launching the Galaxy S5 “by April” and it will be more “about the display and the feel of the cover.”
A new report from the Korea Herald is citing unnamed sources predicting that Samsung will follow Apple and HTC by embedding a fingerprint sensor within the device to perform various tasks for the users, such as authentication. The sources noted, “Among the different types of biometric sensors that Samsung is testing for its Galaxy S5, the tech giant will go for fingerprint authentication rather than unintuitive user experience of iris recognition.”
Rumoured specs of what this flagship might be packed with have ranged from a 5.25-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED (2560×1440 pixels), 16MP camera, 3GB of RAM, plastic and metal versions, running KitKat and its new TouchWIZ UI.
Samsung is expected to officially unveil the Galaxy S5 at an event in London this March, with global availability following. For now, all rumours and speculation.
