Samsung Galaxy Note 4 display deemed to be the best around

We can all agree that Samsung nails it with displays. The company puts out devices that feature vibrant and crisp screens. With the Galaxy Note 4, nothing has changed and it sounds like Samsung has another champion of a display on its hands. DisplayMate, a group that focuses on just displays, put the device through extensive testing in various categories. They found that the Galaxy Note 4 either matches or breaks records when it comes to display performance.
Here is some of what DisplayMate had to say:
The Galaxy Note 4 has a Quad HD 2560×1440 pixel display, currently the highest resolution for Smartphones, with 3.7 Mega Pixels, almost double the number on your HDTV. It provides lots of image detail – it can display four complete HD 1280×720 images at once. The display has Diamond Pixels (see below) and Sub-Pixel Rendering with 518 pixels per inch (ppi), providing significantly higher image sharpness than can be resolved with normal 20/20 Vision at the typical viewing distances of 10 inches or more for Smartphones, so the display appears perfectly sharp. The Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy S5 both have very respectable Full HD 1920×1080 displays with 2.1 Mega Pixels. At typical viewing distances they also appear perfectly sharp for 20/20 Vision.

REBRANDED...

Samsung Galaxy S3 Slim Is Actually Rebranded Galaxy Win Pro.

Samsung Galaxy S3 Slim Is Actually Rebranded Galaxy Win Pro

It was not too long ago that we talked about how South Korean conglomerate Samsung mentionedabout a (then) unknown quantity in the form of the Samsung Galaxy S3 Slim in Brazil. Of course, there was some excitement and buzz in the air considering how it seemed to be a new handset, but upon closer inspection, it does seem as though the Samsung Galaxy S3 Slim is actually nothing more than a rebranded Samsung Galaxy Win Pro smartphone. The Samsung Galaxy Win Pro itself has been made available in China since December last year, where it is also set to arrive in India soon, too.
One can only assume that the Samsung Galaxy S3 Slim was so named that way because the older Galaxy S3, which used to be the smartphone manufacturer’s flagship device before it was ousted by the Galaxy S4 and soon at the end of this month, the Galaxy S5. This made it popular in Brazil as well as the other emerging markets, so why bother to reinvent the wheel? The Galaxy S3 Slim shares similar dimensions and weight as the Galaxy Win Pro at 133mm x 66mm x 9.7mm and 139 grams, not to mention the same model number of SM-G3812, with similar features that range from Android 4.2 Jelly Bean to a 4.5″ TFT display with 540 x 960 pixels.

android_4.4_samsung_galaxy_s4

Ahead of the release of Samsung‘s next flagship model, the Galaxy S5, Samsung has begun rolling out Android 4.4.2 to the Galaxy S4 (GT-I9500). This will bring a number of small UI changes such as the white notifications icons instead of the multi-color that Samsung has been using on their devices.
The phone will also get a performance boost, and will now get better benchmark scores. The lock screen has also been changed, and users can now access the camera straight from the lock screen. While playing music, the album art will also now be showed in full screen on the lock screen.
Other Android 4.4.2 changes include wireless printing, a number of new emojis, and so on. The update is being rolled out in phases, so you may not get it for a few weeks.

Samsung Galaxy S5 to get fingerprint control

Expert Review...

Samsung Galaxy S5 to get fingerprint control

Although fingerprint readers have been around for a long time, it took until the iPhone 5S and TouchID until we got one that worked quickly and accurately. Now, fingerprint sensors are all the rage and Samsung is planning a brand-new way to use one in its Galaxy S5.
According to SamMobile, Samsung will build the fingerprint sensor into the Galaxy S5's home button and not the screen, as previously rumoured.
Rather than Apple's design, where you merely hold your finger over the button to use TouchID, Samsung's implementation will require you to run your finger slowly over the button in order to scan your fingerprint.
The first and most obvious use for the scanner is to unlock the Galaxy S5, providing a secure and simple way for people to lock their phones. However, Samsung will also recognise up to eight fingerprints and can react differently to each one.
Each fingerprint, provided one is assigned to unlock the phone, can be used to start a specific task or as an app shortcut. In effect, your hand and fingers become a way to control your phone without having to venture near the touchscreen.
Samsung also sees the fingerprint reader at the heart of other security features. These include the new privacy mode, which lets users hide personal apps, data and widgets from view; a fingerprint swipe brings them back, so only the phone's user can see them.
On top of this, the fingerprint sensor will also be used to verify your Samsung account and to authenticate to websites using the phone's browser.
From this it's clear that Samsung's trying to do more with the phone and adjust the way it's used, rather than simply focusing on improved core specifications as it did with the Samsung Galaxy S4. We only need to wait a few days to find out exactly what Samsung has in store, with the Galaxy S5 being launched on the 24 February.

Samsung Galaxy S5 features again.

Samsung Galaxy S5 box snapped revealing 20MP camera, 3GB RAM and 5.25-inch 2560 x 1440 display.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 specifications have been leaked in what is claimed to be a photo of the handset's box. This appears to support rumours so far, suggesting we can expect the handset to be unveiled at Mobile World Congress on 24 February.
The photo was sent to the Samsunggalaxys5 site by an anonymous tipster. The specs mentioned on the box show the S5 will come with a 2.5GHz quad core processor, probably the Snapdragon 800, which is backed by 3GB of LPDDR3 RAM. The screen should be 5.25-inches with a stunning 2560 x 1440 resolution (560ppi) Super AMOLED display.
The camera has been in debate as rumours pointed in different directions. It looks like we're getting the one we wanted with a 20-megapixel camera. Although if this is 4:3 aspect ratio that will translate to a 16-megapixel camera at 16:9. It also only appears to shoot 1080p video rather than 4K UHD.

article-title

The battery is 3000mAh, a step up from the 2600mAh juice pack found in the current Galaxy S4. Though with a larger, higher-resolution display and more powerful processor this will likely translate to the same day or two of use most phones deliver now.
The operating system is claimed to be Android 4.4. KitKat. Although this is expected there's no confirmation from the photo itself, just the site who received it.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 should also feature an IR Smart Remote, GPS and GLONASS, and LTE with up to 150Mbps downloads. Expect the official reveal at Mobile World Congress on 24 February where Pocket-lint will be in attendance to bring you the first hands-on experience.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014

Edition Price and Specs Overview.

Since more than a few months ago, Samsung product portfolios broadened to introduce what we call as a ‘slate’ which catered to power users, the executive and working professionals and those who constantly need their business on the go.
This gave rise to the Galaxy Note 10.1 with the new S Pen. The Galaxy Note 10.1. 2014 is generating a lot of buzz as it comes with a bag full of surprises, well not in literal terms.
Even Microsoft has come up with its Surface 2 which aims at correcting the blunders of its first launch. Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 aims to beat all its competitions way behind and win the race of giving users an experience that is not anticipated and will not be forgotten. The unique features include: compatibility with galaxy gear smart watch, high resolution of 2560X1600 display with a unique superior quality rear cover which only adds to its already amazing style.
It is a 10 inch note tablet with similar visual appeals of the Note 3. The Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 comes along with a 2560 x 1600 pixel super clear resolution which is best in its class. This is a significant improvement from the one that preceded it, which had 1280 x 800 pixel display. In fact it even out beats the iPad Air which has a resolution of 2048×1500 pixels, while the difference isn’t much you know you’re getting a good steal with Samsung.
The small text, pictures, videos and icons look very bright, sharp and clear. It is a different feeling when you read ebooks on it.
It is bright indeed and has brilliant colors, more realistic in a way. For instance, if you run apps or games such as angry birds, you will have a different experience altogether as it seems all the more visually appealing.

THE STYLUS

At the right side edge Note 10.1 2014 comes with its unique stylus. It has a specific design which seems customized only to suit Note 10.1.2014, it has a very fine tip and is much different from the other regular stylus’ that are available. The S Pen stylus has a greater degree of accuracy. The S Pen makes it very smooth to take notes and, doodle or even mark minute detailing very easily. It is best use as a work slate, especially if sketching is a part of your job profile.
Samsung also has tweaked some of its best note taking apps to make life simpler for you. Once you remove the stylus from its place you will see a pop up wheel that will enable you to take quick notes, enter phone number or email id or run a quick search. So basically you enter whatever you want, you will get a corresponding pop up to complete your action.
There are several other functions that you can perform with the S pen. This is a brand new feature introduced with the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 for those who really want some serious work, not only out of their slate but also from their stylus!

An anonymous tipster has sent in these Samsung Galaxy S5 Antutu benchmark which confirms the phone will have a 16 mega-pixel camera, and further details.

It is believed that Samsung will be launching their flagship Galaxy S5 at the Unboxed event. There have been plenty of rumours as to what the Samsung Galaxy S5 might have in store for us, while nothing is for sure these purported Antutu benchmarks attempt to shed some light on things.

SYNAPSE CIRCUIT - SAMSUNG GALAXY S5 24 FEBRUARY LAUNCH 2014

It seems as though Samsung is going to return to the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona to wow visitors and press alike with the Galaxy S5! Samsung are said to be disappointed with worldwide sales of over 40 million Galaxy S4 units. Only an ambitious company that Samsung is can be disappointed where other companies would be over the moon to have sold as many units! I think that it is fair to say that in the US the iPhone is always going to be the top seller. Samsung is the undisputed king of the Android market outside the US! Knowing Samsung they will not be content until they topple iPhone sales on US soil!
Launching the Galaxy S5 at the Mobile World Congress makes a great deal of sense as the most of the world will be watching!

FORGET IT!Uh-uh! I don’t mean forget the Galaxy S5 taking off and doing considerably well around the world – including the US! What I mean is that I am not going to bother to speculate too deeply on the specifications because I have learned that Samsung will do its own thing regardless of expectations!

Eyes Sensor? It would be ideal. Fingerprint Sensor? It appears to be more likely! I am perfectly happy with using a password for security! Judging from what I have been hearing about the iPhone 5S the fingerprint scanner isn’t all that! I think such security technology is in its infancy and there are bound to glitches here and there – especially when the giants of tech try to outdo each other in this race for dominance!

64 bit processor? Unlikely for the S5 but very possible for the Galaxy Note 4! I know that Samsung would like to go 64 bit but it may be too early for the GS5! It wouldn’t at all surprise me if Samsung released a 64 bit version of the S5 further down the line! But I really don’t think 64 bit is a crucial component for Android handsets at the moment; the quad core processor has become so fast over the last year - much to the joy of Android users enjoying premium handsets of which the Galaxy S4 is one!
I would imagine that the GS5 will get a 16MP camera capable of 4K. Yes, I would imagine that keen photographers would want a 20MP camera to match the likes of Sony! But I am quite sure that the camera is going to be great! Many Galaxy S fans are hoping for an optical stabilizer!

TOUCHWIZ / MAGAZINE UXIt is said that Samsung is looking to give TouchWiz an overhaul so that it looks like the best of Google Now, Windows 8 and HTC Sense = Magazine UX. But I would imagine that most people who are unhappy with TouchWiz can always use another launcher! Personally, I don’t mind TouchWiz on the GS4 and Note 2 as I find these beasts fast enough for my needs!

DESIGNAs much as I like the Galaxy S4 I do believe that HTC really showed how great an Android phone can look with the One!
I thought the Galaxy S2 was a great design departure than that of the S3 that followed. The S4 seemed to be a refinement of the S3 and Note 2. I do believe that Samsung will be pushing for something as radical as the HTC One! But I am hoping very much that this does not come at the cost of a removable battery!
If you have been following my articles you will know that I am not a fan of metal because it makes the handset more expensive to produce, plus metal dents and scratches. Having seen battered iPhones I am convinced that Samsung has got the materials right! That said, I have yet to see a battered HTC One!
If I am correct, Samsung will continue to refine the design of the Galaxy Note 3 and that will reflect on the Galaxy S5! Looking at the passed patent designs for a Samsung handset it is very possible that the GS5 will feature a wrap around display thus being the first handset to do away with the bezel altogether. Speaking of display...

DISPLAYMany have said that the Galaxy S4, Note 3 and HTC One has smashed the iPhone retina screen. It is said that Samsung are going to make the retina screen finally redundant with 2,560×1,440 resolution at 560 dpi! Wow – if it turns out to be accurate! In any event I think that we will be seeing a rather futuristic looking handset that is mainly screen! I do think that there will be no physical buttons on this version and that will probably delight Google who have been advocating that manufacturers follow their non-physical button aesthetic. Fingers crossed! Sometimes the physical button can be a little cumbersome at times when using handsets without!

ANDROIDI expect the Galaxy S5 to be running the latest KitKat, 4.4.

RUMOURThe rumour is that the GS5 will feature 4GB of RAM! I would imagine that this is to make up for not having a 64 bit CPU!

Samsung Galaxy S5 Release Date, Features & Price.

Newest Leak Beats iPhone 6 in Classy Specs

Aside from Apple's iPhone 6, it is the Samsung Galaxy S5 that serves as one of the most highly awaited flagship phones to be released in 2014. This makes it the reason why numerous Galaxy S5 rumors keep on circulating online especially through leaks, whether unconfirmed or not.
Yahoo News wrote that the latest leaks for the S5 came from a highly reliable source which is the KDB Daewoo Securities. The top brokerage firm in South Korea has established itself as truly reliable especially when unraveling details about devices that are yet to be announced, even before its official debut happens.
In their most recent note sent out to investors, it turns out that the Samsung Galaxy S5 is pack with features more classy than what Apple has prepared for their iPhone 6. According to their unnamed sources, the S5 is claimed to have the following specs: 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon chipset, 5.2 or 5.25 inch AMOLED Display, 3GB RAM, 16MP camera and amazing storage options. It was also emphasized that the version of the S5 they have discussed will be made in complete metal case.
Meanwhile, on other Galaxy S5 news, the Korean tech giant has given out invitations for the event of MWC 2014. Many tech websites including Tech Radar thinks that the invitations sent out highly suggest that it could also the same time that the next flagship smart phone of Samsung will be unveiled.
With the number five seen on the invitation along with a teaser image posted on Twitter, it can certainly be good signs for attendees of the event to get ready for the potential launch of the Samsung Galaxy S5.
If Samsung will push through with introducing the Samsung Galaxy S5 on February 24, then could it help a lot on promoting their newest product early? Or do you think the company may be showing too much desperation to drive sales towards their new flagship phone?

Samsung Galaxy S5 Rumors.

Company Could Stick with Present Naming Conventions, More Release Info Leaked.

JANUARY 30, 2014

For companies such as Apple and Google, less is more when it comes to naming some of their devices.  While the third- and fourth-generation iPad are commonly known as iPad 3 and iPad 4 respectively, those are not their official names, as Apple decided to do away with numbering or special names until the release of the iPad Air in November 2013.  Similar to Apple’s case, Google’s Nexus 7 is officially known as Nexus 7 (2012) or Nexus 7 (2013) depending on iteration (or just plain “Nexus 7”), and not Nexus 7.1 or Nexus 7.2.    As for Samsung, whose Galaxy S phones are traditionally numbered by iteration, it looks like the Korean company will push forward with this naming convention with the Galaxy S5, according to a new tweet from @evleaks.

This latest Samsung Galaxy S5 rumor may sound a bit too obvious, but as mentioned above, certain companies prefer not to number their devices to tell one generation from the other.  That won’t happen to Samsung, though, as @evleaks tweeted earlier today that Samsung is “sticking with a winner, name-wise.”  His Twitter message came with a curious background image with the words “Galaxy S5”, and it’s been speculated that that may be new wallpaper for the unannounced flagship phone.

Meanwhile, a separate report from Sam Mobile claims that model numbers previously leaked for the Galaxy S5 are indeed accurate, and SM-G900 will indeed pertain to the upcoming handset.  SM-G900A and SM-G900V would be for the AT&T and Verizon editions, just as earlier leaked.  The report also included a variety of other model numbers that would correspond to versions from Europe, Asia, Japan, Korea and other markets and carriers.  And while this bit of release information might not add much to existing details hinting at a February/March launch and April/May release date, the report does include model numbers for Sprint, T-Mobile and U.S. Cellular, three carriers expected to offer the Galaxy S5  but whose versions hadn’t appeared on model number leaks until now.

Samsung galaxy note 3: Rose Gold

Rose Gold Samsung Galaxy Note 3 now available from Verizon

Jan 29th 2014 by Quentyn Kennemer

We’d heard Verizon would be the exclusive carrier of the rose gold Samsung Galaxy Note 3, and now the carrier has made it official. The device is now available for $250 on a two-year contract over at Verizon Wireless. You also have the option of getting it on Verizon Edge for 24 monthly installments of $27.15, or $649.99 altogether.
note-3-gold-accents-
Folks should know that it isn’t actually rose gold atop the rest of the chassis, but a painted strip around each side of the device that makes it look more premium. Some might like it, some might not. Either way, it’s the same exact device we’ve been enjoying since late 2013.
Those interested will be greeted to a ridiculous suite of silicon to power Android and TouchWiz sitting on board:
  • 5.7-inch 1080p HD display
  • 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800
  • 3GB of RAM
  • 13 megapixel camera
  • 2 megapixel front camera
  • 32GB of internal storage w/ microSD card up to 64GB
  • Bluetooth 4.0
  • WiFi ac
  • GPS
  • 3,200mAh
  • Android 4.3 with TouchWiz and S-Pen
That good enough for you? If that alone doesn’t impress you, perhaps our review of this beast will do the trick. It’s going to be a powerhouse for months to come, so don’t fret that it isn’t the newest kid on the block anymore. Grab it from Verizon’s site here if you’re interested.

fingerprint sensor.

Samsung Galaxy S5 said to sport a fingerprint sensor.

News
JANUARY 20, 2014 9:35 AM ESTIAN HARDY

It’s now known that Samsung will be launching the Galaxy S5 “by April” and it will be more “about the display and the feel of the cover.”

A new report from the Korea Herald is citing unnamed sources predicting that Samsung will follow Apple and HTC by embedding a fingerprint sensor within the device to perform various tasks for the users, such as authentication. The sources noted, “Among the different types of biometric sensors that Samsung is testing for its Galaxy S5, the tech giant will go for fingerprint authentication rather than unintuitive user experience of iris recognition.”

Rumoured specs of what this flagship might be packed with have ranged from a 5.25-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED (2560×1440 pixels), 16MP camera, 3GB of RAM, plastic and metal versions, running KitKat and its new TouchWIZ UI.

Samsung is expected to officially unveil the Galaxy S5 at an event in London this March, with global availability following. For now, all rumours and speculation.

Samsung Galaxy Lite 3

Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Lite confirmed by leaked official user manual.

The heavily rumored Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Lite has been confirmed by an official user manual leaked by Samsung itself.

Although Samsung has yet to officially announce the Galaxy Tab 3 Lite, the official user manual for the tablet was published on the Samsung Poland website with the model number SM-T110.

The Samsung Poland site is already accepting orders for the Tab 3 Lite as well, asking for £100 for the Wi-Fi only model or £160 for the 3G option. This puts the tablet near the very bottom of the Samsung tablets, making it an affordable option for consumers.

Samsung is no doubt aiming to compete with the likes of the Tesco Hudl and Argos MyTablet with the Galaxy Tab 3 Lite.

According to the user manual the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Lite will have a 7-inch 600 x 1024p resolution display running Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.

It will be powered by a 1.2GHz Marvell PXA986 processor, a Vivante GC1000 GPU with 1GB of RAM. There’s 8GB of internal storage too, bolstered by a microSD card slot.

In the rear is a 2-mepgaixel camera, but there’s no front-facing video calling option whatsoever.

Running on a 3,600mAh battery, the Tab 3 Lite measures up at 193 x 117 x 9.7mm and weighs 130g. This makes it slightly larger and a little heavier than the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 launched last year.

Looking at the user manual and the image Samsung Poland users for the Galaxy Tab 3 Lite page, don’t expect any major design changes with the low-end 2014 tablet.

Samsung is heavily expected to launch the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Lite at MWC 2014 or at a special event just after the Barcelona-based tech show with the Samsung Galaxy S5 and next-generation Samsung Galaxy Gear.

MINI WARS

Mini Wars: Sony Xperia Z1 Compact vs Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini vs LG G2 Mini.

Which is the best compact Android smartphone around? The Xperia Z1 Compact, Galaxy S4 Mini and the G2 Mini face off in our comparison.

In a mobile world hurling towards bigger and taller devices, some manufacturers are downsizing their offerings for users who prefer smaller, more compact handsets. While Samsung has downsized more than just the display of the Galaxy S4 Mini, Sony has taken the novel approach of building the Xperia Z1 Compact with fully loaded specs and s smaller screen. LG is all set to join the bandwagon with its own G2 Mini. Which, then, is likely to offer the best bang for your buck? KYMI finds out.

Form
Xperia Z1 Compact: 127 x 64.9 x 9.5mm, 137g
Galaxy S4 Mini: 124.6 x 61.3 x 8.9mm, 107g
G2 Mini: 4.3-inch screen

Just like its big brother Xperia Z1, the Xperia Z1 Compact is durable and built of premium materials. Its straight lines and barely there curves give it a modern, edgy feel while its aluminium surround and front and back Dragontrail glass casing make it look like a high-end device.

Samsung has given the Galaxy S4 Mini the same form factor as the Galaxy S4. The phone's light weight and curved casing make it ever so easy to grip and carry around but its plasticy build doesn't make it look like a premium device.

The G2 Mini is rumoured to look like the flagship G2 in most ways, including sporting a set of rear volume and power keys. The build quality of the device is expected to be good and given how sleek LG's latest offerings are, the G2 Mini is likely to be well designed.

Being compact, all three handsets will be comfortable to carry and use. While LG surely wins kudos for its modern design and Samsung for the light weigh of its offering, Sony takes home the trophy in this round with durability and build of the Xperia Z1 Compact.

Winner: Xperia Z1 Compact

Android 4.4 KitKat.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 getting Android 4.4 KitKat software now.

Just last week there was news about whether or not the Galaxy S4 and the Galaxy Note 3 will be getting updated to the Android 4.4 KitKat software anytime soon and now it looks like at least one of them will be.  According to online sources, the Android 4.4 KitKat software will start rolling out for the Galaxy Note 3 today.  The update has not been reported in the United States, but it has started to roll out in other regions of the world, so it will only be a matter of time before notifications start to show up here.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is available for a reduced sale price now starting at $192.49 – $779.99.
The Android 4.4 KitKat software will replace the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean software that came along with the device when it launched back in September of last year.  The initial rumors indicated that users would see the new software sometime this month, but as of last week, there was little information to support that.  That all changed this week when the first users started to report the update in Poland.  Because Samsung has not confirmed the update for the Galaxy S4, that could be pushed out until next month or even March.
Most of the time, updates for the Galaxy Note have come after the Galaxy S device of the same year has been updated and that make sense as the “S” smart phone it typically released before the Note model.  The model of the Galaxy Note found in Poland match the one that is found in the United States so it might not be all that long before users in the United States see it.  Samsung has not come forward with exactly what is different about the device, but change logs that have been leaked online can give you an idea of what to expect.

New camera shortcut on the lock screen is one thing that you will notice, plus you will have the choice to show album art on your lock screen while listening to music.  Improved keyboard, choice between messaging and Hangouts applications, just to name a few of the features you can expect.  Even though the main software is getting a little bump from Jelly Bean to KitKat, Samsung is likely to add a few things of its own like the ones listed above.  The Galaxy Note 3 is available on AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon Wireless and US Cellular in the United States.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 can be purchased at a discounted price tag now starting at $192.49 – $779.99.

Samsung S5 & HTC 2

Samsung Galaxy S5 & HTC 2 release dates suggestions clashing announcements

The HTC Two and Samsung Galaxy S5 are two devices that are very much talked about and anticipated. Sources have said that the two handsets may arrive in April and February of this year. There has been a rumour going around February thanks to the Mobile World Congress being held that month in Barcelona. Recently a judge in an infringement case between Nokia and the HTC let it slip that the device from HTC would arrive in February. Last year Samsung launched the Samsung Galaxy S4 at the Mobile World Congress.
A judge was said to have given away the HTC One M8 release date when he said “HTC paints a dramatic picture of what will happen am bound to say I am somewhat skeptical about this evidence given that HTC will shortly be launching a new flagship phone which cannot be assumed to infringe and therefore be caught by the injunction. Nevertheless, I accept that there is a period between now and February or March 2014 when HTC is vulnerable.”
The court case could see a ban on the sale of the HTC One Mini in the UK and the HTC 8X. The injunction has been put on hold for now.
The CES and MWC are the biggest trade shows. Samsung chose the MWC 2013 to reveal the Samsung Galaxy S4, while the CES 2013 was their choice for the arrival of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3. This suggests that Samsung may reveal the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and Samsung Galaxy S5 at the events this year.

Another report suggests that maybe this may change and the Samsung Galaxy S5 could make its way out in April, with Samsung launching the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and the new Galaxy F series at an earlier date. Rumours have suggested that the Samsung Galaxy S5 could have a camera of 16MP, a 64-bit processor, metal body and a curved display of 2k resolution. Nothing has been said about what to expect from the HTC One M8.

Release: Samsung S5 features.

Samsung Galaxy S5 Release Date, Features, & Specs: Device May Scan Eyes.

It seems that Samsung's Galaxy S5 will have the ability to scan retinas in what the company is calling "innovative eye-scan technology."
According to CNN, the news came from Samsung's executive vice president of mobile business, Lee Young Hee, who spoke about it exclusively at the Consumer Electronics Show... though she did indicate that it wasn't a 100 percent sure thing on what is soon to be the flagship phone of Apple's top mobile rival.
"We've been announcing our first flagship model in the first half of each year, around March and April, and we are still targeting for release around that time," Lee said. "When we release our S5 device, you can also expect a Gear successor with more advanced functions, and the bulky design will also be improved.
"Many people are fanatical about iris recognition technology. We are studying the possibility but can't really say whether we will have it or not on the S5.

"When we moved to S4 from S3, it's partly true that consumers couldn't really feel much difference between the two products from the physical perspective, so the market reaction wasn't as big. For the S5, we will go back to the basics. Mostly, it's about the display and the feel of the cover," she said.
But according to Bloomberg News, Samsung has seen a bump in their sales. "The company also sees more growth potential in tablets as it takes on Apple's iPad line and Amazon.com Inc.'s Kindle devices. The tablet computer market will grow more than 15 percent annually, with more than 240 million units shipped last year, Shin Jong Kyun, head of Samsung's mobile business, said Nov. 6.
"Samsung's share of global tablet shipments doubled to about 20 percent last year, Lee Young Hee said. The company, which shipped more than 40 million units in 2013, aims to drive sales growth of its mobile business, which accounts for more than 60 percent of the company's operating profit, to fend off margin pressure from the slowing high-end Smartphone segment," reports the site.

Samsung Galaxy S5

Samsung Galaxy S5 release date in April and to be very different than Galaxy S4

Rumors that have been adrift are that Samsung will be releasing its S5 in April of 2014. In terms of the device itself, it’s thought that customers will get to see a large, high-resolution display, a new Samsung-made Exynos chip using 64-bit technology, enhanced camera capabilities, waterproofing and, possibly, more premium materials used to construct the device. The Samsung Galaxy S5 could be equipped with an iris scanner or fingerprint scanner, or possibly even both, according to rumors and a comment from a Samsung representative. First up, the iris scanner.
It is heard from a viable source that Samsung executive that the Galaxy S5 is being made to look very different from its predecessor the Galaxy S4 variant after Samsung received feedbacks from customers who felt there was insufficient variation from the Galaxy S3. Speculations have it that the whole back panel will be made from stainless steel and will secure to a plastic and composite front fascia.
It is believed that Samsung’s rumored F Series smart phone will be a premium edition of the Galaxy S5 and it’ll be built from a range of materials including plastic, metal and other composite materials. Allegedly all of this is done to reduce weight while making the phone more durable and more pleasing to consumers in terms of look and feel. Prior to all the news surrounding the release to Bloomberg by Samsung mobile chief Lee Young He, where she confirmed the approximate launch date as March/April and the simultaneous launch of the Galaxy Gear 2 smart watch.

In Bloomberg’s interview, He also said, “Many people are fanatical about iris recognition technology,” and added that it could be included in the Galaxy S5, but has not been decided just yet.” We are studying the possibility but can’t really say whether we will have it or not on the S5,” she added. Whether or not it has an iris scanner, the addition of an Apple TouchID-style fingerprint scanner is also a possibility, according to reports. Hit-and-miss news source DigiTimes claims to have heard from “industry sources”.
